Will Hutson

Hello everyone, my name is Will Hutson, and I am a Sophomore from Greenville, SC! I'm a Health Science Major with a minor in Data Analytics on the pre-physical therapy track. After college, I plan on attending physical therapy school to get my medical doctorate in physical therapy. I'm involved in many things on campus such as the Wesley Fellowship, Club Sports Council, Badminton Club, and the Cothran Center for Vocational Learning. I am so excited to participate in this amazing program!

I chose Math and the Mouse because of the diverse opportunity it gives me to expand my education. As a pre-physical therapy student, I don't get many chances to branch out and explore other subjects that interest me. Mathematics is one of the many subjects that is closely related to health, and there are many valuable lessons to be learned from the wide world of math. I applied for this program with the hope that I could use what I learn for my career, research, and internships in the future. I am most excited for the statistics portion of the course. Statistics has been my favorite math discipline since I have been a student at Furman, and I have been able to apply it to research projects I have done in Health Sciences. Even with statistics being a strong passion, I am excited to learn more about all topics included in this program!

I have been to Disney World more times than I can remember, and each time I grow a new appreciation for different rides. However, there are a few rides that have consistently been favorites: Space Mountain, Tower of Terror, Test Track, Exhibition Everest, and Rock 'n Rollercoaster. More recently, the Avatar-themed ride Flight of Passage and the Guardians of the Galaxy-themed ride Cosmic Rewind have quickly become favorites of mine as well. I chose these rides because in my opinion, the best amusement park experience is maximizing thrills. These rides are the most thrilling Disney World has to offer.

I am so excited to get to know all the people on this experience and grow relationships that I can rely on even past the bounds of this month. Each person I have met has been a joy to talk to and I am excited for the group dynamic we will develop. I am so excited to get things started very soon!
