Hey Y’all! I am Tori Wright and I am from Wilkesboro, North Carolina (a small town in the mountains of NC) I am a rising sophomore majoring in computer science at Furman University. Disney was something that was very influential in my life as a child and now as a young adult. Disney not only made me realize that I wanted to do something in the computer science and math field, but it also gave me a lifetime of happy memories. I grew up watching Disney movies on long car drives and going to Disney World with my mom, dad, and sister. As I got older I became even more fascinated with Disney, specifically with the work that goes on behind the scenes at Disney. This is when I found out I was able to combine my love for Disney and computer science/math. I hope to one day work at Disney to provide many more people with the same happy memories I have from Disney.
I am very excited to embark on this crazy and wonderful journey of spending 3 weeks at Disney World. I was initially enticed by the fact I was going to be spending 3 weeks at Walt Disney World. Still, I eventually became even more interested when I heard about all the assignments and opportunities that were done on the trip. I am very excited to grow my math knowledge, my Disney expertise, and my relationships with everyone during this trip. I am specifically excited to see how math and science are applied to real-world situations. I know the classes and what we are taught will be very interesting and something I will remember for the rest of my life.
I have been to Disney World a couple times in the last few years and I am very excited to be going again. Disney has always been my happy place as it is involved with many of my happiest memories as a child and now as a young adult. However, I am excited to be going this time with the math involved and being able to learn more about Disney Parks. Some of my favorite activities to do at Disney World are wearing one of my many pairs of Minnie Ears, riding many exciting and thrilling rides, and eating many delicious snacks at the parks. Some of my favorite rides at Disney World are Rise of the Resistance, Avatar Flight of Passage, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Space Mountain. I love how Disney puts a lot of effort in order to bring the magic alive for the Disney-loving kids and adults, and this includes their amazing rides. In between riding rides, I like to snack, some of my favorite snacks are the Mickey ice cream bars, dole whips, and popcorn. Disney has such a happy and beautiful atmosphere that creates many great memories for people and I am excited to be in that atmosphere and learn how to create that atmosphere for others!
