Furthermore, I had the pleasure of working with Dr Bouzarth, Dr Harris, and Dr Hutson on three projects for my research with the Mathematics Department in the summer of 2023. One of the projects we worked on pertained to making use of Queueing and a discrete event simulator to model the queues at Disney in an attempt to address how initial park entry times affected tours. To that extent, I look forward to seeing how the Mathematics we worked on, in addition to what we will do during the trip, plays out in real life.
Some of the things I am most looking forward to are enjoying the rides in Disney, experiencing free fall from the rides, and just generally having a blast with the cohort. I also look forward to the food; I heard there is massive variation in what is offered, and I look to browse the options. Another thing I am excited to see is EPCOT, as I am excited to see how several parts of the world are represented in one location.
