My name is John Taylor and I am from San Diego, California. I am in the class of 2026 and I am double majoring in Physics and Applied Mathematics. My favorite thing to do is anything that allows me to be in the ocean. I hope to use these degrees to enhance my knowledge in the world of aerodynamics and flight. After university I plan on attending flight school through the Marine Corps to fly fighter jets. Despite the fact that I will have to lose the mullet, I am really excited for that chapter of my life. I think that this May Experience will aid me greatly on the path to my goals.
I chose to apply for and attend this MayX because I want to learn how to apply mathematics outside of the classroom. There are so many aspects to mathematics that I haven't yet had the opportunity to learn about or experience. There could be an application of math that I haven't even thought of that I may have an unknown passion for. I really do believe that this trip could alter some of my future goals and aspirations by expanding my knowledge horizon.
Durning this trip, I am beyond psyched to visit all the Star Wars attractions. The six year old in me still thinks there is a chance I could be a Jedi. I don't think I have the money to build my own lightsaber at the park, but you don't need extra money to experience the Star Wars rides. Another attraction I am really excited to visit is Epcot. I have heard so much about Epcot and now I finally get to go and see what all the hype is about. What I am most excited for, however, is the exclusive underground "behind the scenes" tour that we get the opportunity to go on. I know Disney isn't going to give away everything, but I'm really enthusiastic about learning some inside secrets about the park. I lied, the thing I am most excited for is the food!
