One of the many parts of this experience I am most looking forward to is having the opportunity to present our data and analyses to professionals at Disney. It makes our work meaningful to us and impactful to both Disney and their hundreds of thousands of visitors every single day. No matter what size impact we make on Disney, we are concurrently making an impact on millions of people around the world, which is not something many people can say they have done (especially at this age!). Furman is the only place on the planet where this opportunity is even remotely possible; we are all incredibly lucky to be able to embark on this journey, especially with such great professors who support us throughout the three weeks.
My favorite ride at Disney is probably one of the last rides you’d expect to be a favorite: the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. It is the perfect ride for a hot day at Magic Kingdom: it’s air-conditioned, always has little to no wait time, and is slow-paced yet fascinating; it’s the perfect ride to relax while listening to people screaming in Space Mountain!
